Monoclonal-like peaks in alfa2-beta region caused by radio-contrast media on capillary zone electrophoresis

Electrophoresis is an indispensable technique for research such as separation analysis. A Monoclonal-like peak was discovered in alfa2 region on routine-based capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) but neither cellulose acetate membrane nor immunofixation. From clinical records it strongly indicated the involvement of iopamidol, radio-contrast medium, administered at CT scan examination. Very high absorbance by media can be detected wavelength 214 nm CZE. Other three used hospital were further investigated to show media-specific peaks constant migrate position from alfa2-beta with reproducibility. These include iohexol, ioversol and iopromide. We newly profile pattern Use a disposable ultrafiltration device eliminate nonspecific peak, thus being enable detect specifically Monoclonal proteins well other covered underlying pathophysiologic conditions.
